Jewelry Maintenance
The majority of Gypsy Moon House jewelry is meticulously handcrafted using brass as the primary material.
Over time, brass, like any other metal, will naturally develop a patina or tarnish. The rate at which this occurs can vary depending on factors such as sweat, water, and moisturizers, which differ from person to person. The beauty of brass is that it can be easily restored to its original shine within a few minutes using a microfiber cloth, and brass cleaners like Brasso or Tarnx.
Alternatively, you can also opt for natural cleaners like ketchup, lemon, or even toothpaste, although these methods may require a bit more time and effort to achieve the same effective results.
To prevent tarnishing, it is advisable to avoid exposing your jewelry to moisture and keep it away from water. In the event that your items do get wet, make sure to thoroughly dry them. It's important to note that certain metals and plating, particularly gold-plated ones, can tarnish over time when exposed to chemicals such as pool and sea water, hair spray, perfume, and lotions.
